How to use this app
- At the end of each week, count the assignments the crews committed to and how many were completed as promised.
- For each missed assignment, choose the main reason from the list and enter the counts by reason.
- Review the Pareto chart at the weekly planning meeting and pick the top reason to work on.
- Watch the trend, and check that overall progress and completed work are also improving, since PPC can be raised by promising less.
- Use it to learn as a team, not to rank crews.

Worked Example: Eight Weeks
The pre-loaded data show planned assignments of 40, 42, 38, 41, 44, 40, 43, and 42, with 26, 28, 26, 31, 34, 33, 36, and 35 completed. PPC rises from 65% to about 83%. In the first three weeks materials (14) and prerequisite work (10) are the top reasons, which points the team toward a constraint review in the lookahead.
Average PPC in the first half of the record is about 69% and in the second half about 82%. The improvement came from committing only to work that was ready, and not from asking crews to work harder.
Limits and Good Practice
- PPC measures the reliability of promises, not progress. A team that promises little can score high, so also track work completed and schedule progress.
- Use a short, agreed list of reasons and apply it consistently, so the Pareto chart is meaningful.
- Use PPC as a team learning measure. Ranking crews by PPC tends to encourage padding the plan with easy tasks.
- Data stays in your browser. Keep entries to counts, not names of individuals.

What is percent plan complete?
Percent plan complete (PPC) is the number of weekly assignments completed as promised divided by the number planned, expressed as a percentage. It is a Last Planner System measure of how reliable a team's commitments are, and it is used with reasons for variance to find what disrupts the work.
What is a good PPC?
Targets vary by project and maturity, and the most useful comparison is with your own trend. Many teams treat a PPC in the range of 80 percent as a reasonable reference for a mature process, and use the reference line in the tool as a starting point, adjusting it to your own goals.
What are reasons for variance?
They are the recorded causes of missed assignments, such as materials not on site, prerequisite work incomplete, design information or requests for information outstanding, labor shortage, equipment, weather, or owner and inspector delays. Counting them by category shows the most common causes, which the team then works to remove.
Is my data stored anywhere?
No. The tracker saves in your own browser using local storage and does not send anything to a server. Use Clear all to remove it, and keep entries to counts rather than names of individuals.
